Wembdon is a vibrant rural village just a little over 1 mile from the market town of Bridgwater<\/a>, and less than 15 miles from the county town of Taunton<\/a>. \u00a0Wembdon is situated on the edge of the picturesque Quantock Hills<\/a>, England\u2019s first designated area of outstanding natural beauty. Wembdon is one of the more exclusive areas near Bridgwater. It\u2019s a lovely village with some great local people. \u00a0There is a proactive Parish Council and numerous community groups and associations who organise many substantial events throughout the year, most notably the Village Day and the Firework Display. \u00a0A vil<\/a>lage ha<\/a>ll<\/a> and new sports pitches were completed in May 2017 and are home to an extremely successful cricket club<\/a> and junior<\/a> and senior<\/a> football clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Village has much to offer in the way of local amenities: The Village Hall and Playing Fields<\/a>, Wembdon Parklands<\/a>, a country pub \u2018The Cottage Inn<\/a>\u2018, St George\u2019s Church and Parish Centre<\/a>, a garage and MOT centre, a pre-<\/a>school<\/a>, and a primary <\/a>schoo<\/a>l<\/a>. A sec<\/a>ondary schoo<\/a>l<\/a>, swimming<\/a> pool<\/a>, Gym and sports complex<\/a> are also situated alongside the village boundary with Chilton Trinity<\/a> just over a mile from the village centre. Wembdon also has a large, well equipped park for children, allotments and numerous B&B\u2019s and holiday lets. Wembdon is served by excellent transport links: bus stops within the village, with a bus & train station in Bridgwater only 1\u00bd miles away. The M5 motorway J23 & J24 are only 5 miles away, and the village is well connected to the area\u2019s cycleway routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wembdon welcomes all visitors and new residents. We do hope that due to the many rural roads within the village all visitors and passers-by drive with care and consideration for our residents by keeping their speed low as much as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
