Somerset Council will be closing Church Road, Blakes Road and Blakes Lane to allow “Kiely Bros to carry out prep works, surface dressing and associated works on behalf of Somerset Highways”. The Temporary Road Closure Notices state that the work is expected to start on 7th April and is expected to last until 11th April.

According to Somerset Council’s surface dressing notice, “each phase of the works will take place for one day within the stated period unless otherwise advised. The road will be reopened when no work is taking place.”

We expect vehicle access to be allowed to all premises on the affected roads and their side roads, except for short periods when the location of the work prevents it. The recommended diversion route will be signposted.

There will be temporary traffic lights outside number 32a Wembdon Rise on Monday 23rd March. Contractors for Somerset Council will be replacing redundant dropped kerbs and resurfacing the footway.

Somerset Council will be closing Quantock Road eastbound between Whitegates Roundabout and Danesboro Road. The closure will be from 9:30am to 3pm on Wednesday 18th March. Westbound traffic will not be affected. As explained in the closure order, the road closure is required so that a contractor can “reset gully frame works on behalf of Somerset Highways.”

The effect of the closure is that there will be no access from Wembdon towards Bridgwater along Quantock Road.

There will be temporary traffic lights near number 88 Wembdon Hill from 11th to 13th March. Wessex Water will be repairing a leak.

There will be temporary traffic lights on Quantock Road from 6th to 7th March. They will be outside number 115, which is to the west of Whitegates Roundabout. Wessex Water will be carrying out “Interim to permanent reinstatement”.

As a result, we are likely see increased traffic through Wembdon village.

There will be temporary traffic lights near number 105 Wembdon Hill from 2nd to 7th March. Wessex Water will be “relaying water service from main to boundary/point of entry”.

Somerset Council will be carrying out jetting of drains in Perry Green Road on Friday 27th February, between Sandford Hill and Moores Lane. Traffic could be a delayed for up to 15 minutes at a time.

There will be temporary traffic lights on Quantock Road from 23rd to 27th February. They will be between Skimmerton Lane and Sandford Corner. Contractors for Somerset Highways will be carrying out works to improve the drainage.

As a result, we are likely see increased traffic through Wembdon village.
