Wembdon’s Neighbourhood Plan

Wembdon’s Neighbourhood Plan was developed between November 2017 and May 2019 and was unanimously adopted by Sedgemoor District Council (SDC) on 31st July 2019. SDC became part of the new Somerset Council in April 2023.

The formal adoption of our Neighbourhood Plan means that its policies must be taken into consideration by Somerset Council when assessing all new planning applications within the Parish of Wembdon. Our Neighbourhood Plan forms part of the development plan and sits alongside the Local Plan prepared by SDC. Decisions on planning applications will be made using both the Local Plan and the Neighbourhood Plan, and any other material considerations.
