Overnight closures of A39 now 9th – 11th August

The overnight closures of the A39 are now expected to start on 9th August (instead of 2nd August) and to last for 2 nights (instead of 4). The closures will now be from 21:00 each evening (instead of 19:00) until 06:00 the following morning.

Quantock Road will be closed from a point east of Skimmerton Lane to Sandford Corner – see the first map – and New Road and Main Road will be closed from a point to the east of Blackmore Lane to the Cannington roundabout – see the second map.

The closures are for “prep works, surface dressing and associated works”.

The effect of these closures will be that there will be no direct access from Wembdon to Cannington and beyond, and access to Perry Green will be through Wembdon. The A39 traffic will not be diverted through Wembdon.

A signed diversion route will be in place, taking westbound traffic via the A38, Priorswood, and the A358, and eastbound in the reverse direction.
