Temporary traffic lights on A39 Quantock Road 5th May – further information

We have now found some further details of the roadworks along Quantock Road. A new main electricity cable is being laid on behalf or National Grid from a substation near the junction of Quantock Road and Wembdon Road to (we believe) the Cokerhurst Farm housing development.
The three way temporary traffic lights at the junction of Quantock and Wembdon Roads caused minimal traffic disruption last week. They were removed for the weekend, but have been reinstated this week. Once the initial work in that location has been completed, cable laying will continue westwards along Quantock Road. Three-way temporary traffic lights will be used when the work is near the junctions with Quantock Avenue and Danesboro Road, otherwise, two-way lights will be in use. There will inevitably be an impact on traffic on the A39.
We have no information yet on the potential impact of the work when it reaches the roundabout at Homberg Way.
According to the information provided by Causeway one.network the work could last until 10th July.
Further information should be available from National Grid on 0800 096 3080 quoting works reference numbers LN0832535529B and LN0832535529D.
This information was provided by Causeway one.network and is believed to be accurate. However, roadworks may sometimes be deferred to a later date, without explanation. All links open in a new tab.
