Bridgwater half marathon – Sunday 6th September
The Bridgwater half marathon will start at The Green, Wembdon on Sunday 6th September at 10 a.m. The route map shows the outbound route to be via Church Road, Blakes Road and Blakes Lane. It continues via Moore’s Lane and Perry Green Road to the bottom of Sandford Hill and onward to Cannington.
The return route is also via Perry Green Road, but uses the northern part of Moore’s lane before continuing to Chilton Trinity. The final section uses Chilton Road, Western Way and Homberg Way before returning to The Green using the footpath past Wembdon Church.
There will also be a 10k run at 10:30, and a 5km Fun Run at 11:00, both also starting from The Green. The 10k run follows the same route as the half marathon, but turns round at a point on the A39, and returns to The Green using the reverse of its outbound route.
The roads used will not be closed, but there will be marshalls guiding traffic, and road users and affected residents have been asked by the organisers to respect the directions given by the marshalls.
