Could you volunteer to help people in Somerset?
A new video has been launched celebrating Somerset Council volunteers and encouraging more people to get involved.
Somerset’s volunteers make a huge difference across the county. They give their time, skills and experience to help services reach more people and provide valuable support to residents.
Putting volunteers at the heart of the story, the film shares why they choose to volunteer, what they enjoy about their roles and what they get back from giving their time.
Volunteers make a difference
Somerset Council Volunteering supports more than 1,400 volunteers across 20 council services. Roles range from delivering library books and driving residents to important appointments to supporting young people and caring for Somerset’s countryside.
Volunteers are important to the future of services. Recruiting and retaining volunteers helps us reach more residents, improves access to support and keeps people connected.
