Cavanna Homes are holding a public consultation on Monday 29th September at Wembdon Village Hall, Homberg Way. They invite you to discuss their evolving development proposal for the land adjacent to Skimmerton Lane, Wembdon.

The event will be open from 3:30pm to 7:30pm, and all are welcome to visit at any time.

This proposal is, in effect, the third phase of the Cokerhurst Farm development, and the area of land is highlighted on the aerial photograph in the poster, which also shows its relationship to the first two phases. (Click on the poster to enlarge it in a new tab.)

Closure of Church Road, Blakes Road, and Blakes Lane – a reminder

A Road Closed sign

From Monday 22nd to Friday 26th September, contractors for Somerset Council will be working in Church Road, Blakes Road, and Blakes Lane. The Temporary Traffic Restriction Order states that the three roads will be closed between 7am and 7pm daily. A signed diversion route will be in place, but vehicular access has to be maintained for residents. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

The contractors have told us that they will be carrying out patching work, so it is likely that only a short section of road will be closed at a time, and re-opened before they move on to the next section. Depending on where the work is at any particular time, residents may need to use the signed diversion route via Church Road, Blakes Road, Blakes Lane, and Hollow Lane. They said that residents fronting a closed section may have to wait a few minutes before they can access their driveway, while machinery is moved.

They have also told us that they plan to work on Church Road on Monday & Tuesday, Blakes Road on Wednesday, and Blakes Lane on Thursday, although the plans may change due to poor weather conditions.

Note that this closure will also affect residents of Greenacre, Shepherd’s Close, Crossacre, The Pippins, Crossview Rise, and Crossfield Close.

For further information about the works being carried out please contact Kiely Bros on 0121 772 3800, quoting reference: ttro632214N.
